Would you like to see more 2D Sonic games? Do you believe Sega should re-release a few of its other 2D Sonic games? Let us understand in the comments or share your thoughts directly on Twitter at @Marcdachamp to talk all things gaming!

While 3D Sonic video games have been Sega’s main focus for the last 25 years, there’s been a fairly consistent stream of 2D adventures for Sonic fans to enjoy also. Games like Sonic Advance, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, and Sonic Rush have all kept the spirit of the initial Sega Genesis games alive and well, while introducing brand-new characters, new stories, and new functions. More recently, Sonic Mania offered among the extremely the best 2D video games to ever feature the character. Not counting ins 2015 Sonic Origins, Sonic Mania was the last time fans got an opportunity to see a brand-new 2D adventure featuring the character. Ideally they won’t need to wait too much longer!

The earliest entries in the Sonic the Hedgehog series were 2D platformers, prior to the primary series moved to 3D starting with Sonic Experience. In the 25 years since, Sega has launched a number of 2D games along with its 3D Sonic titles, and it seems the business has no plan to move far from that. When asked by a fan about future video games like Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (which was established by Dumps), Sonic Frontiers’ director Mario Hashimoto confirmed that gamers can look forward to extra 2D Sonic video games. When fans may see more of these types of games, however, remains to be seen!

While titles like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic CD have gotten a number of releases over the years, titles like Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush have actually never been used beyond their preliminary releases. A package similar to Sonic Origins featuring some of these games would be a welcome sight, and help keep Sonic fans satisfied until a really brand-new 2D Sonic video game is completed.
