It was on June 8 that we were able to discover the world premiere of the first official trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 . If a bit of information was still missing, fortunately for us, Infinity Ward had held a private conference with the most prominent players in the license to reveal more about the game that is being highly anticipated.
As a result, we could have information to put in our mouths, including one of the critical points of the game: The most reworked gameplay regarding what we could call interactions with the water: swimming, diving, and the rough sea. On the other hand, in addition to this aspect that seems quite significant in Modern Warfare 2, the developers have also announced the arrival of two new modes but no sign of DMZ.
Modern Warfare 2 will welcome Prisoner Rescue and Knockout modes.
Prisoner Rescue will be very familiar if you are a Rainbow Six: Siege player. In this mode, teams are divided into Defense and Attack, like in Search and Destroy. The role of the attackers is to go to the rescue of the prisoners and then get them out of the said building, but they can also decide to kill all the defenders (this will ensure their victory). As for the defenders, their role is obviously to either safeguard the hostages or kill all the attackers to provide a victory on their side.
The knockout model will more closely resemble a mode found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, but with a few changes. In the latter, players will fight for control of a location and again be divided into two teams, 6v6, and will only have one life. However, despite this restriction, if a player goes down, their teammates will be able to revive them, like in Call of Duty: Warzone. Once the entire team has fallen, the round is over.

What about DMZ mode?
Well, unfortunately, at the moment, the developers have not communicated at all about the much talked about mode – DMZ.
While various rumors have gotten stronger and stronger over the weeks, we’re still waiting for any sign of life from this Escape from Tarkov -esque mode, which, according to leaks, looks very promising. As a reminder, this should be a mode where players must perform a tactical extraction. In addition, the latter would offer a day/night cycle with dynamic weather and at least four maps.
